Abstract

This paper presents the design, implementation, and evaluation of a novel client-side web-based an application system as of agricultural engineering terminology that operates entirely offline after initial loading. Unlike traditional server-dependent methods, the proposed system reads Microsoft Excel files directly in the browser using JavaScript-based parsing, processes all data client-side, and provides an interactive multilingual interface with five language supports (Arabic, English, French, German, and Chinese). Performance evaluation demonstrates average search response times of less than 50 milliseconds for dictionaries containing up to 5,000 terms, with linear scalability up to 10,000 entries. The system requires no server infrastructure, no database management, and no internet connectivity after initial load, making it particularly suitable for deployment in rural agricultural areas, educational institutions in developing regions, and field research environments. Results were concluded as follows: (a) research presented a complete methodology for developing an offline-capable multilingual dictionary system using Excel as the data source. The system successfully demonstrates pure client-side operation, direct Excel integration, automatic column detection, dynamic category generation, five-language support with RTL/ LTR switching, sub-50ms search response, and responsive design across all devices. The system has been validated on 4,617 agricultural engineering terms and advised deployed in education and extension contexts in Egypt., (b) compared to traditional printed dictionaries (full offline but no search), online dictionaries (multi-language but requires internet), and desktop software (full features but expensive), the proposed system uniquely combines offline access, multi-language support, real-time search, custom data via Excel, zero cost, no installation, and complete data privacy., and (c)Also, universities should ensure that their students develop proficiency in foreign languages and strong communication skills by using a computer application computer program in agricultural engineering terminology. Students and postgraduates to improve their command of the language. So, University graduates will be better prepared for the workplace in future.
