The proliferation of algorithms enabling machines to learn and autonomously improve their efficiency (“artificial intelligences/AI”), alongside advanced experimentation with “ brain technologies” and “ social” robots, necessitates a critical reflection about the anti-social side effects of the tumultous and unchecked digitalization process affecting regressive and disturbing anthropogical and psychiatric aspects. In particular, the major issue of “ digital psychopathologies” demands urgent solutions to protect the human brain and bolster “natural intelligence” against the destructive impact of mass screen-addiction. The proposal to introduce students to the sport of Bridge could just serve as an effective “ digital detox” strategy, fostering a rethinking of “ sustainability” in terms of re-humanization, deceleration, and degrowth. This work aims to explore the socio-cognitive potential of Bridge sport in relation to the need to promote sociability, social intelligence, and collective intelligence.
